Skills for Care Best Individual Employer Accolade

Skills for Care Accolades are given to the best employers in England who are committed to high quality care and support and who support the learning and development of their workers or personal assistants.  

Your organisation may have supported individual employers to access funding from the Skills for Care Workforce Development Fund for Individual Employers.  If this is the case, dconsider encouraging them to apply for an Accolade.

Back 2 Employment provided by Deaf Positives Action

Back 2 Employment is a specialist Service for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Back 2 Employment (B2E) provides information and guidance for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people from 16+.

Launch of X-Card Project Report

In 2014 the Disability Action Alliance (DAA) began a project

that looked at the possibility of developing a card that could support disabled people to live more independent lives. The project was called the ‘X’-card project.
The project group ran a survey in early 2015 to develop an evidence base to help it assess the DAA’s ability to take forward such a project. The report of the collated results of the survey can be downloaded from the Resources section of our website at

Centre for Independent Living Kent 2015 AGM

Have your say on the Equality Act.

The Equality Act Commitee was set up to look at the provisions and implementation of the Equality Act 2010 in relation to how it serves disabled people. The Act was intended to harmonise discrimination law and strengthen the law to progress on equality. The Committee will investigate how effective this legislation is.

The Committee has now published the attached call for written evidence and invites all interested parties to sumit evidence by 4th September .
